Working Place: A Contemporary Office Design by Yuewen Yang

Creating an Artistic and Functional Workspace

In this project, space, as an event exciter, urges people and things to establish relationships and extend their own meanings in the process of interaction, and finally establish emotional connections.

In the realm of office design, Yuewen Yang takes a unique approach, blurring the lines between a traditional office space and a museum. With meticulous attention to detail, Yang has transformed a 350 square meter area in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China into a comprehensive working place that exudes contemporary art and fosters emotional connections.

The design of this office space prioritizes the creation of an atmosphere that inspires creativity and productivity. The main materials used in the project include wood flooring, marble, emulsion paint, oak veneer, and blackened stainless steel. These materials not only contribute to the aesthetic appeal of the space but also enhance its functionality.

One of the key challenges faced by the designer was to ensure that the space was well-lit. To achieve this, the layout of the walls was carefully planned to allow for even distribution of natural light throughout the space. Additionally, unique works of art were custom-made for the office, adding a strong sense of artistry and attraction.

Completed in February 2019, this office design project has garnered recognition and acclaim. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. This prestigious award recognizes designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life.

Yuewen Yang's innovative approach to office design challenges traditional notions of what a workspace should be. By creating a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetics, this contemporary office design provides a comfortable and inspiring environment for its users.

As Yang explains, "In this project, the designer tries to sort out the existence state of people and objects in space. The designer thinks that the cognition of objects should be beyond its own physical and color properties, and that the relationship between objects and objects and between objects and people should be worth attention and edited according to some spatial logic. On the premise of meeting basic functional requirements, designers try to present artistic and contemporary space with the help of spatial architecture and detailed design."

With its unique blend of art, innovation, and functionality, Working Place by Yuewen Yang sets a new standard for office design, inspiring professionals to think beyond the traditional confines of a workspace.
